Home Force
The Home Force service is available in Surrey Heath and provides domestic support to older people to enable them to live independently at home. The service assists people who have long term health needs or who are receiving state benefits.
The Home Force Manager visits the person’s home to discuss:
- The domestic help required (up to 4 hours per week)
- Hours needed
- Cost
- Equipment required
- Holiday/sickness arrangements
- Insurance
A home help who is directly employed by Age Concern Surrey will be assigned to provide support to the client. Home helps have a CRB clearance and are reference checked. They can assist with the following:
- Housework
- Laundry
- Shopping
- Pension and prescription collection
- Preparation of light snacks
- Assistance with telephone calls or letter writing
The clients are invoiced 4 weekly in arrears for the service which is partly subsidised by the Surrey PCT.
