The GO50 Project is partly funded by The Garfield Weston Foundation, Shell and Standard Life Healthcare. It is part of a national health promotion campaign called 'Ageing Well'.

Cycling Programme.


"Off road" rides in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere. Rides cover distances from 8 to 15 miles (not far on a bike!). There are rides each week across the County. Our leaders will always be ready at the start point. No need to book, just turn up and ride. Enjoy a different view of the countryside.

GO50 walks offer a range of led walks in Surrey.  Something for everyone, from short level walks to more challenging hilly four mile walks.  All walks are very sociable events, with the opportunity to have a pub lunch, picnic or cup of tea together at the end.





Walking for Health (Guildford and Ash Wharf).

Walking for Health (Leatherhead).


Walking for Health – Short community based volunteer led walks in Guildford, Ash Wharf and Leatherhead. Pace to suit participants, walks will last about an hour. Walks are meant to be sociable and fun. It’s a great way to get healthy and enjoy meeting other people. We normally stop for a cuppa afterwards.

Penine Walk.


GO50 leaders walking the Pennine Way. In April, two of Age Concern's Walk Leaders will be walking the Penine Way in order to raise money for Age Concern Surrey. Click here to see the poster and to make a donation.





New Horizons
Group, Woking
.


A weekly project in Sheerwater which offers a range of activities for older people including Tai'Chi, play reading, talks on health matters, local walks and trips to places of interest.





Maybury Estate Coffee Club, Woking.


The club offers weekly activities for older people covering a variety of interests and topics, including dance, walks, exercise and trips out.





Khidmat, Woking.


Khidmat is a group for Asian women elders meeting at the Mosque in Woking. A weekly programme including exercise classes, traditional crafts, walks, guest speakers and trips out.





Activity Taster Days.


Special "over 50" taster days run occasionally at local sports and leisure centres across Surrey. Sessions include Tai'Chi, Pilates, Dance, Badminton, Short Tennis and Gym.

The Winston Churchill School Sports Centre is a regular venue for these taster days. Activities are expected to include; badminton, table tennis, an introduction to the gym and lots more. Come and join in the fun! For more information and to book a place please call 01483 797015
